Needless to say, I was taken aback by a question. I had a hard time answering. A few months later, I sat down to begin outlining a new book in my series, 'A Photographer's Journey.' Suddenly, my mind went back to that phone call from my son. "He can't be the only one with a work schedule that limits his time for vacationing," I thought. "That's it!" And, 'America: No Hiking Required' was born.
It all makes sense to me now. So many of my friends and acquaintances work full-time corporate jobs and juggle complex schedules with kids, clubs, etc. I wrote this book to make it a bit easier for millions of people to see a part of America in just a day or two without the need for hiking boots and a backpack.
